Omar King

Omar is a native of Queens, NY and relocated to Raleigh, NC as a teenager where his home has been ever since. In 1999 he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with a minor in Biology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and his Master’s of Divinity with Biblical Counseling degree from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, in Wake Forest NC in 2010. In 2001, he received a Level 1 Certification as a Clinical Pastoral Educator through Duke University and Rex Health Care. Omar served as a Special Programs teacher at Mary Phillips Alternative High School in Southeast Raleigh for 3 years and 6 years as full-time certified personal fitness trainer at O2 Fitness Club in North Raleigh. After graduating from seminary Omar served on the Summit Church’s staff as a part-time pastoral counselor and a venue pastor until the launch of Bridgehaven Counseling Associates in 2012.  He has served as a full-time counselor for 5 years.  He has a growing interest and passion in areas of abuse and toxic relationships, marriage, pre-marriage, dating, depression, anger, anxiety, addiction, men’s issues, and identity and security.  He and his wife of 10 years LaToya, live in Wake Forest, NC and attend the Summit Church where Omar serves as an elder at their North Raleigh campus. He is a health and fitness aficionado and his favorite sports are table tennis and mixed martial arts. Contact Omar
