Andre Turrentine

Church Partnership Liaison & G5 Facilitator

André is a pastor and shepherd with a desire to minister to God’s people the way Jesus does.  From his youth he has listened to understand and see the people around him.  He saw people living, loving, reaching, struggling, and took note.   Fortified by experiences with a faithful and loving God, he dares to come alongside hurting people.  By God’s grace he has become an encourager, a gracious corrector, and one willing to stand in the messy middle with others.  He has found that suffering people aren’t so concerned about your status but your ability to hear their heart, understand their need, and provide meaningful resources or help.

André was a member of the initial CTPM Board of Directors.  He has seen what the Lord can produce with persistent people making efforts to come alongside the hurting and people helpers.  André is now one of our Church Partnership Liaisons, and a Facilitator with the G5 Abuse Intervention Course for Men.

André has been greatly inspired by his family.  By his family, he means Great-grandparents, Grandparents, Parents, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Siblings, and his nucleus including Honey, his wife, four children, and their growing units.

Andre is a North Carolina Central University alumnus where he graduated with honors from The School of Business.    He went on developing his ability to connect with people in Sales and Marketing for eighteen years before he responded to a call to minister in a different way.   To prepare André went on to Campbell University Divinity School in Buies Creek, NC and received a Master’s in Divinity.  The Lord led André to focus on Chaplaincy and Counseling. Which in turn led him to serve as Chaplain for Inter-Act, a Shelter from Domestic Abuse in Raleigh, NC.  His personal experiences and interactions with the women and children in the Domestic Abuse shelter solidified his desire to see more people and organizations willing and prepared to intervene and advocate for those in oppressive relationships.  Andre has continued to pursue this passion as a part of Called to Peace Ministries (CTPM).

Our victories, big and small, are in discovering and understanding thoughts, beliefs, and urges that influence behaviors that ignite emotions and sensations that impact us even further.  Our challenge is to be present enough in the moment to recognize whether or not and how our current decisions, for the future, are being impacted by traumas of the past, or our trust in a faithful God.  Contact Andre
